Article Withdrawal
Technomedia Journal (TMJ) is committed to upholding publication ethics, academic integrity, editorial transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing. The journal recognizes that manuscript withdrawal may be necessary under exceptional circumstances, particularly when legitimate academic, ethical, or legal concerns arise. However, withdrawal should not be regarded as a routine option after submission, as the editorial evaluation, double-blind peer-review process, and publication preparation require substantial time and resources from editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
By submitting a manuscript to TMJ, authors acknowledge their responsibility to ensure that the submission is original, has not been previously published, and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal. Authors are expected to carefully evaluate their manuscript's readiness, originality, ethical compliance, and suitability for the journal's focus and scope before initiating the submission process.
1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review
Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript before the peer-review process begins must submit a formal written request to the TMJ Editorial Office through the journal's official communication channels. The request must include the manuscript title, submission ID, names of all authors, and a clear explanation of the reasons for withdrawal.
The Editorial Office will review the request, verify the manuscript's editorial status, and notify the corresponding author of the decision. Withdrawal will be considered effective only after formal written confirmation has been issued by TMJ.
2. Withdrawal During Peer Review
Withdrawal after a manuscript has entered the double-blind peer-review process is strongly discouraged because it may result in the unnecessary use of editorial resources and reviewers' time. Such requests will be considered when authors provide legitimate and sufficiently justified reasons.
The corresponding author must submit a formal withdrawal request confirming that all co-authors have been informed of and agree with the decision. The Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor will evaluate the circumstances, including the manuscript's review progress, ethical considerations, and justification for withdrawal.
Authors must not independently terminate the submission process or submit the same manuscript to another journal while it remains under consideration by TMJ. Such actions may constitute a violation of publication ethics and will be addressed in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
3. Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal requests submitted after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication will be considered only under exceptional circumstances. Authors must provide a detailed written justification explaining why withdrawal is necessary despite the completion of the editorial evaluation and peer-review stages.
The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board when necessary, will assess the reasons for withdrawal, the manuscript's production status, and any relevant academic, ethical, contractual, or legal considerations.
Approval of withdrawal requests after acceptance is not automatic. The journal reserves the right to request additional documentation or clarification before reaching a final decision. Withdrawal will take effect only after the corresponding author receives formal written confirmation from the Editorial Office.
4. Articles Already Published
Once an article has been officially published in Technomedia Journal, including online publication with an assigned Digital Object Identifier (DOI), it cannot be withdrawn through the ordinary manuscript withdrawal procedure. Published articles form part of the permanent scholarly record and should remain accessible to maintain academic transparency and the integrity of scholarly communication.
If significant errors, plagiarism, duplicate publication, research misconduct, data fabrication or falsification, authorship disputes, copyright violations, or other serious ethical concerns are identified after publication, TMJ will assess the matter in accordance with its Publication Ethics policy and applicable scholarly publishing standards.
Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, the journal may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a formal retraction. Retraction notices should clearly explain the reasons for the editorial action and maintain an appropriate connection to the original publication record.
Any post-publication action will be handled transparently, fairly, and consistently with the journal's responsibility to preserve the reliability and integrity of the academic literature.
5. Withdrawal Procedure
All manuscript withdrawal requests must comply with the following requirements:
-
The request must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author through the official communication channels of Technomedia Journal.
-
The request must clearly identify the manuscript, including its title, submission ID, authorship information, and reasons for withdrawal.
-
The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors have been informed of and agree with the withdrawal request. TMJ may request written confirmation from individual co-authors when necessary.
-
The Editorial Office will examine the manuscript's current status and evaluate the justification provided. Additional supporting information or clarification may be requested.
-
The Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor will determine whether the withdrawal request can be approved in accordance with the journal's editorial and publication ethics policies.
-
Withdrawal will become effective only after TMJ issues formal written confirmation to the corresponding author.
Submitting a withdrawal request does not automatically terminate the editorial or publication process. Until official confirmation is received, authors must continue to comply with TMJ's submission requirements, editorial procedures, and publication ethics policies.
6. Ethical Considerations and Editorial Action
Technomedia Journal upholds the principles of originality, accountability, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication. Unjustified withdrawal, simultaneous submission to multiple journals, misleading authorship declarations, or attempts to circumvent the editorial and peer-review process may be considered violations of publication ethics.
Where potential misconduct is identified, TMJ reserves the right to conduct an appropriate editorial assessment, request explanations or supporting documentation from the authors, and consult relevant institutions when justified by the circumstances and applicable ethical procedures.
Editorial actions will be based on documented evidence, proportionality, fairness, and the principles established in the journal's Publication Ethics policy. The journal will ensure that withdrawal requests and related ethical concerns are evaluated objectively and without discrimination.
The journal's primary objective is to protect the integrity of scholarly publishing while respecting the legitimate rights and responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and other stakeholders.
